SEPTEMBER 7th is the Doggie Plunge this year. Your dog has not lived until it has attended the Doggie Plunge at Pirates Cove in Denver, Colorado. It’s on every dogs bucket list.
So here is the deal. On the last day that Pirates Cove is open they invite all the dogs in to trash the pool. It gets pretty gross by the end of the day (hint, hint). You are not allowed to get in the water and trust me you won’t want to.
After you take your dog for a swim you can walk down to Belleview Park where a bunch of dog related and local type vendors have booths set up. Last year Jack got some dog biscuit flavored yogurt, a frisbee, and many other treats and information down there.
Here is a video of Jack attending the Plunge last year.
Here is the days schedule:
**Throughout the day (8:00am-3:00pm), enjoy the activities in Belleview Park, where admission is FREE. This includes pet friendly booths, food, dog contests and demonstrations.
8:00am – 9:00am 1k Fun Run/Walk to benefit the troops (help us fund another service dog for a deserving veteran returning home)
Belleview Park festival of booths is open for your enjoyment.
9:00am-11:00am Doggie Plunge Swim Session #1
10:00am Rocky Mountain Dockdogs demo in the lap pool
11:00am – 1:00pm Doggie Plunge Swin Session #2
12noon – Rocky Mountain Dockdogs demo in the lap pool
1:00pm – 3:00pm Doggie Plunge Swim Session #3

It’s actually officially titled The 6th Annual Freedom Festival and Doggie Plunge and it seems to get more and more crowded every year so consider making a Doggie Plunge Reservation.
